WELLESLEY, Mass. - Second-seeded Wellesley College field hockey will play third-seeded Smith College on Saturday, November 7, at 3:00 PM in the semifinals of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Tournament at Babson College's MacDowell Field.

The Pioneers advanced to Saturday's semifinal with a 5-0 win over sixth-seeded Springfield College. Wellesley won the only matchup between the two schools during the 2015 regular season, 3-2, thanks to a double-overtime game-winning goal from junior Courtney Peterson (Glastonbury, Conn.). Wellesley and Babson, the two top seeds, received a first round bye and advanced to the semifinals.

Top-seeded Babson will host this weekend's games, with the Beavers set to battle fifth-seeded Mount Holyoke on Saturday at 12:00 PM. Mount Holyoke defeated fourth-seeded MIT, 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon to advance to the semifinals.

The semifinal winners will face-off in the 2015 NEWMAC Championship game on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Wellesley, the two-time defending tournament champion, is looking to advance to the final for the third-straight season. The tournament champion earns the NEWMAC's automatic qualifier to the 2015 NCAA Field Hockey Championship.
