WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2019 Field Hockey conference and postseason awards on Thursday and Wellesley College field hockey juniors Carson Dennis (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) and Mitzi Wiggin (North Hampton, N.H.) have each been named to the 2019 All-Conference team. Dennis earned a spot on the first team and Wiggin was named to the All-Conference second team.

Wellesley's leading scorer in 2019, Dennis earns her first career NEWMAC All-Conference honor following a year where she established career-highs in points (39), goals (15), and assists (9). Dennis was fifth overall in the NEWMAC in points, goals, and assists, and finished as the top-scoring midfielder in the conference. Dennis totaled three multi-goal games, and five game-winning goals in 2019. Her hat trick on Oct. 12 vs. Mount Holyoke included the game-winning goal in overtime as Wellesley rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Lyons, 4-3.

Mitzi Wiggin | JR | North Hampton, N.H. | NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference

The Blue's leader in the backfield, Wiggin established herself as one of the top defenders in the NEWMAC while earning her first All-Conference honor in 2019. A strong block tackle who supports the ball well, Wiggin was often the catalyst for the Wellesley attack, helping the Blue transition to offense with timely interceptions in the defensive end. Also a key part of Wellesley's offensive corners, Wiggin finished the season with four asssists in 18 games played.
