WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Lauren Curley (Stow, Mass.) scored three goals as the Beavers of Babson College took down the Wellesley Blue 7-0 on Tuesday night at Butler Stadium.

Wellesley has now dropped three consecutive games and fall to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. With the win, Babson improves to 15-1 and remains in first place in the NEWMAC at 6-0.

Right out of the gate, the Beavers applied offensive pressure and received a goal from Quinn Greer (Providence, R.I.), her ninth of the season. Just over five minutes later in the first period, Jessica Evans (Southbury, Conn.) scored off a pass from Millie Brady (Far Hills, N.J.) to give Babson a 2-0 lead. The first of Curley's three goals would come towards the end of the first quarter. She then added a second seven minutes into the second on another assist by Brady and Babson held a 4-0 advantage.

First year Berit Sharrow (Denver, Colo.) would add to the Babson lead in the second quarter, as Meara Hanyon (Brodheadsville, Pa.) was credited with the assist. The final goal of the half once again came from Curley off a Brady pass and the Beavers took a 6-0 lead into the break. The Blue picked it up defensively in the third quarter, only allowing two shots on goal that were both saved by Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Penn.). Sophomore Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.) nearly scored the first goal for Wellesley, but her shot was rejected by Beaver keeper Cassidy Riley (Niantic, Conn.). In the fourth quarter, Sharrow scored her second goal of the game and the Blue were put away 7-0.

Wellesley remains at home for senior day on Saturday, October 23, at 12:00 PM in a match with rival Mount Holyoke. Babson looks to keep an 11 game winning streak alive, as the Beavers host Clark on Saturday, October 23, at noon.
