HOLYOKE, Mass. - A late goal by junior Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.) led Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-2 win over Mount Holyoke in their New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game on Saturday at Mount Holyoke Turf and Track Complex.

In addition to Lenart, senior Lindsay Strong (Concord, Mass.) and junior Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.) scored for the Blue (7-9 Overall, 3-4 NEWMAC). Junior Cecilia Field (Burlington, Vt.) and senior Kylie Brooks (Oceanside, Calif.) scored the goals for the Lyons (3-11 Overall, 0-7 NEWMAC).

Just over two minutes in the game Strong connected on a goal assisted by Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.).

Four minutes later Novello widened the lead to 2-0 finding the back of the cage on a shot set up by sophomore Camille Newman (Manhattan, N.Y.).

The Lyons cut the lead to 2-1 early in the second when Field fired a goal that was set up by Phoebe Aaronson (Mountain View, Calif.).

Later in the second the Lyons tied the game at 2-2 when Brooks scored on a shot set up by junior Caroline Thompson (Harwich, Mass.).

With just over three minutes remaining in the contest, Lenart connected on her sixth goal of the season, giving the Blue a 3-2 lead they held onto through the final horn.

The Blue close out their season on senior day next Saturday when they host Springfield at 1:00 PM. The Lyons hit the road Tuesday for a non-conference 7:00 PM game against Nichols.
