Wellesley Field Hockey Faces Setback Against Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) had two goals and an assist for Endicott in a 3-0 non-conference game against Wellesley College field hockey on Tuesday night at North Field.

Swanson gave the Gulls (10-3 Overall) an early lead with two first quarter goals. Junior Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) and sophomore Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) each had an assist.

Late in the fourth quarter, sophomore Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) padded Endicott's lead with a goal set up by a pass from Swanson. 

First year Katie Golla (Oak Park, Ill.) and senior Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.) each had two shots on goal for the Blue (7-6 Overall, 3-2 NEWMAC) while senior Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.) recorded nine saves.

The Gulls took 20 shots while limiting the Blue to 11. Endicott took two more penalty corners (10) than Wellesley (8). Endicott sophomore Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) stopped five shots.

Up next, the Blue host Smith on Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 PM and the Gulls hit the road to play Gordon on Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 PM.
