Bio

Keri O’Meara started the Wellesley College softball program in the spring of 2003, and has built the team from a first-year program into a nationally-ranked threat. Through 17 seasons she has posted an overall record of 335-264-6 and is recognized as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Four-Star Master Coach. The Blue have seen significant success under her reign, as Wellesley has won 20 or more games in 10 seasons under O'Meara.

O'Meara has guided the Blue to NCAA Appearances in 2007, 2008, 2014 and 2015, winning the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Coach of the Year award in 2007 and 2014. In 2015, the Blue won the NEWMAC Tournament Championships for the second consecutive season. O'Meara also guided the Blue to the NEWMAC Tournament Title in 2007 and 2015 and the NEWMAC Regular Season Championship in 2008 and 2014, earning a bid into an NCAA Regional in both seasons.

The Blue played in the NEWMAC Playoffs in every season under O'Meara from 2005 through 2017, while also qualifying for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships in 2005 and 2006.

O’Meara came to Wellesley from Dartmouth College where she was the Assistant Softball Coach. At Dartmouth, she was responsible for coordinating all aspects of recruiting. She also assisted with practice/game coaching, scouting, game preparation, team travel, strength and conditioning and fundraising.

Prior to Dartmouth, O’Meara was the Assistant Coach at Bloomsburg University, and was named to the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in 2001. While obtaining her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she assisted with all aspects of the program including recruiting, practice preparation, travel and fundraising. At Bloomsburg, the team finished as the fourth-ranked team in Division II, winning the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship for the second consecutive season.

Before entering the college coaching ranks, O’Meara spent five years coaching and teaching at the high school level (West Essex Regional High School, Caldwell, N.J.; Long Branch High School, Long Branch, N.J.)

O’Meara also serves as an Associate Professor of Physical Education at Wellesley and teaches advanced spinning and Boot Camp in the required physical education program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Montclair State University in 1996. While at Montclair State, she was an NCAA Division III All-America softball selection, a four-year starter and standout on Montclair’s soccer team, and the college’s representative for NCAA Woman of the Year.
