Ally Esielionis Joins Blue Basketball Coaching Staff For Upcoming Season

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Jennifer Kroll, Head Basketball Coach and PERA Associate Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College, has announced the hiring of Ally Esielionis as Assistant Basketball Coach for the Blue. Esielionis will also assist with the department's sports information efforts as an Athletics Communications Assistant. 

A 2018 graduate of Salve Regina with a degree in Psychology, Esielionis was a four-year member and two-year captain of the Seahawk women's basketball team, starting 98 of 99 career games while scoring 779 career points, grabbing 465 rebounds and collecting 156 career blocks. Following her collegiate playing career, Esielionis traveled to Athlone, Ireland for a year with Victory Scholars, working with at risk youth, while coaching youth basketball teams, and running camps and clinic for players between the ages of 6-18. She also had the opportunity to play basketball for an international club team. 

While at Salve, Esielionis worked as part of the events staff for home games, assisting with set-up and take down, recording statistics, and filming livestreams. A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, she recieved the Seahawks in Service Award, awarded to select student-athletes who selflessly and exceptionally give back to their communities. 

A native of Shirley, Massachusetts, Esielionis is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Springfield College.
