Wellesley Basketball Announces 2019-20 Schedule

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College basketball and Head Coach Jennifer Kroll have announced the team's 2019-20 schedule.  

Wellesley will play eight home regular season contests at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse, beginning with a non-conference tilt against local rival Wentworth on Tuesday, November 19. After the November 19 match-up with the Leopards, the Blue do not return home until 2020 and a January 4th match-up against Nichols. Wellesley's New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) season begins two weeks later when the Blue welcome Clark on Saturday, November 18th. 

The early season schedule includes three Friday-Saturday tournaments, beginning with a trip to the Curry College Tip-Off, November 8-9, in Milton, Mass. Wellesley last played in the Curry College Tip-Off at the start of the 2015-16 campaign. The Blue will also take part in the Wesleyan (Conn.) Invitational, November 22-23, and the Ed Hockenbury Classic, hosted by Norwich University, December 6-7.

The remaining home schedule includes non-conference dates with Pine Manor (Jan. 11) and Fisher (Feb. 12), and NEWMAC match-ups with: WPI (Jan. 29), Wheaton (Feb. 1), and Emerson (Feb. 15). The February 1st match-up with Wheaton will once again features National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) celebration and youth sports clinic prior to the start of the game. More information on NGWSD will be available at a later date. 

Schedule Notes: 

  • Home Opener: Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 7:00 PM vs. Wentworth
  • NEWMAC Opener: Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 PM vs. Clark
  • The NEWMAC Basketball Championship is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 26, 2020
