Blue Take Fourth at New England Championships

The Wellesley College fencing team competed at the New England Championships at Mount Holyoke College this weekend.  The Blue took fourth overall out of 15 competing teams.

Hannah Braaten and Wendy Chin competed in the individual foil championships.  Braaten took second place out of the field of 44, bringing home a silver medal after a four-fencer face-off. Chin also performed well, finishing in fifth place in foil. Ashley Paquin qualified for the individual epee event.  She placed in the top 12 in a field of over 45 fencers.

Wellesley fencing is back in action on March 13th when qualified fencers will compete at the NCAA Regional, to be hosted by Sacred Heart at Vassar College.
