Wellesley Golf Takes Third at Vassar Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golf closed out the weekend at the 2019 Vassar College Invitational with a third place finish in the team standings at the Par 72, 5,810 yard Casperkill Golf Club.

Williams College (301-308-609) captured the team title, with NYU (310-305-615) finishing six strokes behind in second. Wellesley (319-320-639) was third, with the Blue holding a six-stroke advantage over fourth place Middlebury (321-325-646). Amherst (327-321-648) rounded out the top five. 

Wellesley first year Audrey Lin (Fremont, Calif.) finished the weekend with the low score for the Blue, shooting 79 (+7) on Sunday to take 12th place overall after matching her collegiate low round with a 77 on Saturday (77-79-156). Junior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) jumped up two spots to finish in a tie for 13th, shooting a 78 (+6) on Sunday (79-78-157).

First year Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) tied for 23rd (82-81-163), moving two spots up the leaderboard on Sunday. Classmates Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) and Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) tied for 29th, with Blonder shooting an 84 (81-84-165) and Kenwood posting an 83 (82-83-165). First year Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) moved five spots up the leaderboard on day two, finishing 35th overall (88-82-170). 

Wellesley will head to Hickory Ridge G.C. in Amherst, Mass. for the Amherst Invitational next Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28.
