Blue Golf in Fourth After First Half of NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. - Senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) shot a 74 and finished in third place as Wellesley College golf sits in fourth after day one of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Saturday at the Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass.

Williams College (299) leads the field after day one, followed by Amherst College (308), Middlebury College (312), and then Wellesley (314). First year Victoria Kim (West Chester, Pa.) of Williams led the field shooting three under on the par 72 Captain's Course.

MacVicar birdied holes 6, 12, and 15 to help keep Wellesley in the hunt for first. Following MacVicar was junior Emma Lim (Skillman, N.J.) tied for sixth with a 76. Senior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.), sophomore Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and first year Lucia Chen (Horseheads, N.Y.) rounded out the Blue shooting 80, 84, and 86 respectively. Junior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) tied for sixth after day one with a 76 playing as an individual.

Wellesley will conclude their fall season tomorrow with the second half of the NEIGA Championship at the Captains G.C.
