Wellesley Golf Takes Seventh at Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. – Wellesley College golf finished seventh at the Wesleyan Invitational. The tournament took place at Lyman Orchards' Par-72, 5812 Yards Robert Trent Jones Course. Play consisted of only nine holes on Sunday due to weather and course conditions. 

Middlebury won the team competition with a score of 471, followed by a tie for second between Bowdoin (490) and Hamilton (490). Wellesley finished in seventh with a score of 514, narrowly ahead of Liberty League foe Ithaca (515). Middlebury first year Ella Han (Suzhou, China) led all individuals for the weekend with a score of 115 (77-38). 

Junior Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) shot three over on Sunday to finish 21st overall by carding a 126 (87-39) on the weekend. First year Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) was only one stroke behind Catlin with a final score of 127 (85-42).

Also competing for the Blue was sophomore Ashley Cong (Troy, Mich.) (129 - 83-46), senior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) (132 - 91-41), and sophomore Lucia Chen (Horseheads, N.Y.) (146 - 100-46).

First year Maria Li (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) competed as an individual and carded a 127 (87-40) for the weekend.

Wellesley wraps up its fall season at the NEIGA Championship, which takes place at the Captain's Club in Brewster, Mass., on October 14-15.
