Sun Picks Up Liberty League Women's Golf Rookie of the Week Award
TROY, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golf first year Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) has been named the Liberty League Women's Golf Rookie of the Week for the week of April 1.
Sun shot a 68 (-4) to win the individual competition at the Vassar Invitational II on Sunday. The performance tied Sun for the lowest 18-hole score in program history. Sun helped the Blue shoot a 284 (-4) as a team, which was a program record. On Saturday, the first year carded a 73 (+1) to claim third at the Vassar Invitational.
This is Sun's second Rookie of the Week honor. The first year previously earned the accolade for the week of September 11.
Up next, the Blue will host the one-day Ann S. Batchelder Invitational at the Nehoiden Golf Club on Saturday, April 13.
