Wellesley Golf Rises to Program-Best Eighth in WGCA Poll

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Wellesley College golf is tied for eighth in the latest Mizuno Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) NCAA Division III Coaches Poll on April 12, 2024. This is the highest that Wellesley golf has been ranked in program history on record.

The Blue are the top ranked program in the Liberty League. Carnegie Mellon currently sits at No. 1 in Division III.

Wellesley has earned team victories at the Jekyll Island Invitational, Vassar Invitational, Vassar Invitational II and Ann S. Batchelder Invitational this spring. The team set a program low shooting 284 (-4) to win the Vassar Invitational II.

First years Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) and Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) each shot a 68 to win the Vassar Invitational and Vassar Invitational II respectively. The duo are now tied for the lowest 18-hole score in Blue history.

The team returns to action on Saturday, April 20 at the Jack Leaman Invitational. The event takes place at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
