Alisa Marino Named Interim Head Lacrosse Coach at Wellesley College

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Bethany Ellis, Director of Athletics and Chair of the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics (PERA) at Wellesley College has announced that Alisa Marino will serve as Wellesley's Interim Head Lacrosse Coach for the 2024 season. Marino has been an assistant coach for the Blue for the past two seasons.

"I am happy to announce that Alisa Marino will serve as Interim Head Lacrosse Coach for our program," said Ellis. "Alisa has been a valued member of the coaching staff for the past few years and we are grateful for her continued time, energy and dedication to our student-athletes. She helped guide the team through a successful fall and I wish her and the team the best this season."

Marino originally joined the Blue lacrosse program as the team's goalkeeper coach prior to the 2022 season. The Blue posted a record of 9-22 with Marino on the sidelines, and earned NEWMAC wins over Clark, Emerson and Mount Holyoke in 2023.

"It is truly an honor and a privilege to lead this team for the upcoming season. I would like to extend my appreciation to Bethany Ellis for allowing this opportunity," Marino said. "This gifted and remarkable group has made tremendous progress in the fall, and I am thrilled to continue building upon that success this spring."

Marino graduated from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with Concentrations in Forensics and Sociology before earning a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from King's College in 2016. During her time at King's College, Marino was a member of student government, served as a resident counselor, and played lacrosse as a goalkeeper.

She also has experience in the field of College Admissions, working as an Assistant Director of Admission at her alma mater King's College from 2013-2016 before working as the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions at Northeastern University in 2016.

Marino has worked as a Program Administration Manager at Boston Children's Hospital since 2020. She had also worked as a Program Coordinator and as a Senior Administrative Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital between 2016-2020. Marino has been a Co-Chair for Boston Children's Hospital Young Professionals since 2018.
