NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Sophomore Megan Turchi scored with 1:19 left in double overtime lifting the Wellesley College soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match-up.

Turchi's score was her second game-winner this season, bringing her career total to six deciding goals. Earlier this season, she recorded a penalty kick tally to win a 2-1 double-overtime game against UMass-Boston.

After a scoreless first half, Wellesley took a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute, as first-year Lena Cardoso recorded her third goal of the season off of a Turchi assist. Coast Guard rallied late as Cierra Collins found the back of the net with 12:03 left in regulation.

Junior Sarah Gray needed just two saves to register the win. Coast Guard's Mary Mills tied a season-high with 16 saves in the loss.

Wellesley outshot Coast Guard 20-6 to improve to 6-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play. The Blue have now played five double overtime game, winning four while recording a tie in the other.

Up next, Wellesley hosts non-conference opponent, Fitchburg State, on Tuesday at 4:00pm.
