Wellesley Tennis Cruises on Day One of Seven Sisters

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Wellesley Tennis, currently #10 in the nation, swept Bryn Mawr and Smith today in the Seven Sisters Championship at Vassar College.  The Blue, having just returned from its Spring Break training trip to Georgia, defeated Bryn Mawr 5-0, dropping only 11 games in 10 sets.  Wellesley was equally strong against Smith, dropping just six games in five straight-set wins.

The tournament concludes tomorrow, as Wellesley plays Mount Holyoke at noon and Vassar at 3:00 p.m.  Vassar, #23 in the country, matched Wellesley's performance today, sweeping both Smith and Mount Holyoke 5-0. Tomorrow's 3:00pm match-up will likely decide the tournament champion.  Last year, Wellesley edged Vassar 3-2 to clinch its fourth straight Seven Sisters title.
