Wellesley Tennis Lands Three on NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College tennis junior Justine Huang (Coto de Caza, Calif.), sophomore Selina Peng (Taichung, Taiwan), and first year Lily Chu (Princeton, N.J.) have each been named to the 2018 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis All-Conference second team. Huang and Peng were selected as the top doubles squad on the All-Conference second team, while Chu was selected as the No. 6 singles player. 

The NEWMAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Team includes nine first team and second team selections which are voted on by the nine women's tennis coaches. This is the the third career All-Conference honor for both Huang and Peng, as they also earned All-Conference second team selections last season. Huang was selected at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles and Peng was selected at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 singles in 2016. The honor is the first for Chu following her rookie campaign. 

Huang and Peng finished the 2018 season with a 14-4 overall record in doubles matches and a 7-1 mark in conference regular season play. The duo was 7-3 together over their final 10 matches during the spring of 2018. Chu finished the year 9-5 overall and 5-1 in conference matches, going a combined 8-3 in matches at No. 6 singles. She finished the season on a four-match win streak that included a 7-5, 6-2 victory in the Blue's NEWMAC semifinal match at Babson. 

Wellesley tennis finished the season with a 14-8 overall record, going 6-2 in NEWMAC regular season play before advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
