Wellesley Tennis Announces 2019-20 Schedule

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College tennis and Head Coach Brian Kuscher have announced the team's schedule for the 2019-20 campaign.  

The Blue will begin the season with a pair of tournaments this fall, participating in the ITA Regional Championships at Middlebury (Sept. 27-29) and the Bowdoin Invitational (Oct. 11-12) in Brunswick, Maine.

The spring slate opens at home with a Sunday morning match-up against TCNJ on February 23. The Lions are the first of six opponents in 2019-20 that ended the 2018-19 season ranked in the ITA Top-40 National Rankings. The Blue will also play at Skidmore (Feb. 29), vs. Bates (March 7), vs. Brandeis (March 8), vs. NYU (April 4) and at MIT (April 14). Details on the team's spring break schedule will be available at a later time. 

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) season opens on Tuesday, March 17 with a home match against Wheaton and includes the standard eight match schedule. Matches at MIT and with Babson (April 7) highlight the slate, while a Tuesday April 21st tilt with Emerson will close out the regular season.

The NEWMAC championship tournament begins on Saturday, April 25. After back-to-back semifinal appearances, the Blue will be looking to make the team's first trip to the NEWMAC final since the 2016-17 season.

  • Home Opener: Sunday, February 23 at 10:00 AM vs. TCNJ
  • NEWMAC Opener: Tuesday, March 17 at 4:30 PM vs. Wheaton 
  • The NEWMAC Women's Tennis Championship is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25
