Wellesley Tennis Recognized as ITA All-Academic Team; Seven Earn Scholar-Athlete Honor

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College tennis has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's All-Academic Team for the ninth season in a row. Additionally, seven members of the Blue have received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

In 2024, 1,271 Division III women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 167 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. The Blue recorded a team GPA of 3.72.

Recent graduates Melinda Alviar (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Annissa Mu (Saratoga, Calif.) add a fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete award to their collection. Classmate Jennifer Fan (Vancouver, British Columbia) and rising junior Emilee Pak (Chicago, Ill.) both receive a second accolade.

Rising sophomores Dalia Khera (Houston, Texas), Veda Madhusudan (Short Hills, N.J.) and Kriti Sarav (Chicago, Ill.) have all been named ITA Scholar-Athletes in their first year of eligibility.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),

  • all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and

  • all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year

  • be listed on the institutional eligibility form

Originally founded in 1956 by the legendary UCLA men's tennis coach, J. D. Morgan, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
