Bio

Jon Alvarez is entering his third season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Blue tennis program. He has over 20 years of experience as a tennis instructor organizing and executing group programs for both junior and adult players.

Alvarez has a strong background in individual tennis instruction, utilizing drills and games to reinforce fundamentals of stroke production and match play strategy. He also has deep experience as a competitive tennis player and is active in club, local and regional individual and team competitions. Alavarez has won numerous club championship titles and USTA NTRP team titles and has held USTA NTRP top-ten rankings in both the 4.5 and 5.0 divisions.    

An architect by training, Alvarez serves Wellesley College as its Director of Design and Construction, spending weekends with his wife and their cat, Henry, at their home in Southern Connecticut.
