Mahlandt leads Blue Track & Field with top-ten time at NE Division III Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Sophomore Taylor Mahlandt (Ephrata, Pa.) finished ninth in the 5000m, while classmate Tatenda Rameau (Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded a personal record in the 60m, to lead Wellesley College track & field at Saturday's New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at Springfield College.

Mahlandt finished just over three seconds behind the leader of the first heat in the 5000m, earning a time of 18:26.56. Mahlandt's time was good for second in her heat and ninth overall. Wellesley senior Isabella King (Cincinnati, Ohio) was 10th (19:11.75) in the same heat of the 5000m, good for 22nd overall.

Rameau opened her day in the long jump, leaping 5.02m on her second attempt to finish 16th overall. She followed her long jump performance with a time of 8.11 seconds in the prelims of the 60m Dash, recording a new collegiate best. Ramaeu's time was good for 21st overall but she did not advance to Saturday's final.

Saturday's meet was the final competition of the indoor season for Wellesley track & field.
