Wellesley Track and Field Announces 2022-23 Schedule

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College track & field team has announced the 2022-23 schedule under Head Coach Phil Jennings in his eighth season.

The Blue will open their season on Saturday, December 3 at the Mary Grinaker Invitational hosted by the Smith College. 

Wellesley will not compete again until January 14, at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational hosted by Boston University. Wellesley's busy January continues January 21 when the team travels to Tufts for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational. The Blue will close out the month at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University on Friday, January 27, followed by the Wheaton Invitational in Norton, Mass. on Saturday, January 28.

The Blue begin February with the Tufts Cupid Challenge before returning to Boston University for the Valentine Invitational. Wellesley will also compete in the Gordon Kelly Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11 hosted by New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival MIT. The Blue head to Smith for the Sisters Championship on February 18 before competing in the New England Division III Championships at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. on February 24-25. The final qualifier for the NCAA Indoor Championships will be held on March 4, 2022 at Tufts University.

The outdoor season will begin with the Coast Guard Invitational on April 8 and the Silfen Invitational on April 14-15. Both events will take place in New London, Conn. Wellesley then returns home to host Smith and Mount Holyoke in a tri-meet on April 22. The Blue will then turn their attention to the NEWMAC Championships, hosted by MIT in Cambridge, Mass. on April 29-30. The Blue continue their season with a race at Springfield in the New England Division III Championships on May 5-6 and the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) on May 12-13 at a location to be determined. Wellesley completes their regular season with the MIT Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday, May 18.
