Wellesley Track and Field Takes Fourth at Emory Thrills in the Hills

ATLANTA, Ga. - Wellesley College track and field wrapped up their competition at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Invitational on Saturday. 

The Blue finished fourth with 59.5 points. Host Emory won the Invitational with 167.5 points, followed by Colby (84) and Montevallo (83).

Senior Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) won the 3000m race with a blazing time of 10:24.70 while classmate Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) was just behind in third with a 10:51.25. First year Elise Lanahan (Greenville, S.C.) took seventh with an 11:43.10. 

Senior Emily Doyle (Mobile, Ala.) followed up yesterday's record breaking javelin throw with an eighth place performance in the discus throw with a distance of 35.11m.

The Blue's 4x100m relay team of junior Taylor Quaye (Redondo Beach, Calif.), first year Sara Maeve Klingensmith (Chapel Hill, N.C.), senior Saul Richardson (Orono, Minn.), and sophomore Merete Ogah (Austin, Texas) earned ninth with a time of 50.59.

Senior Ariel Traver (Palo Alto, Calif.) placed tenth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.30m.

The Blue will next compete on Saturday, April 8 in New London, Conn. at the Coast Guard Invitational.
