Blue Track & Field's Ella Whinney Qualifies for 2023 NCAA DIII Track & Field Championships, May 25-27
WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College track & field first year Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) was announced on Friday as an individual qualifier for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships will take place from May 25-27 at Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, N.Y. with St. John Fisher University acting as the host institution.
Whinney is set to compete in the 3000 meter steeplechase trials at 8:05 PM on Thursday, May 25. The top four runners in each heat and the next four fastest times will qualify for the finals on Saturday, May 27 at 12:45 PM.
Whinney's time of 10:42.72 in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the MIT Final Qualifier currently ranks eighth among all Division III.
