NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region recipients on Friday. Wellesley College track & field senior Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) was named a USTFCCCA All-Region member in the 10000 meter event while classmate Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) and first year Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) each earned the honor in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Friday marked the first time Wellesley had three team members make the USTFCCCA All-Region team.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top three ranked relay team.

Anderson holds the second fastest time in the 10000 meter race this season in the East Region with a 36:23.57 at the New England DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championship.

Whinney has the fastest time in the East Region this year in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a 10:42.72 at last night's MIT Final Qualifier, while Murphy-Weise's time of 10:53.28 at the same event was good for third in the region.
