4x200m Relay Logs Blue Track & Field Program Record at New England DIII Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – Wellesley College track & field's 4x200m Relay team broke the program record at Sunday's New England DIII Championships. The event was held at the TRACK at New Balance.

Senior Taylor Quaye (Los Angeles, Calif.), sophomore Charlie Barron (Chattanooga, Tenn.), senior Eriko Darcy (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Sara Maeve Klingensmith (Chapel Hill, N.C.) had a relay time of 1:48.64. The time was nearly a second faster than the previous Wellesley record. The Blue placed ninth out of 24 teams in the event.

Sophomore Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) crushed her Indoor Mile personal record time with a 5:06.36. Whinney placed 11th out of 24 competitors.

Sophomore Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.) also had a PR in the 1000m. Peng ran a time of 3:10.37 to collect 18th place.

Junior Emily Doyle (Mobile, Ala.) competed in the Weight Throw. Doyle's distance of 13.23m was good for 19th out of 32.

Sophomore Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.) finished 22nd in the 5000m race with a time of 18:52.31.

Up next, Wellesley will compete at the Tufts University Qualifying Meet in Medford, Mass. on Saturday, March 2.
