Wellesley Track & Field's Beauchamp Takes Fourth in 3000m Steeplechase at NEICAAA Outdoor Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. – Wellesley College track & field sophomores Simone Beauchamp (Aurora, Colo.) and Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) raced on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Outdoor Track & Field Championships (NEICAAA). The competition took place at Holy Cross and featured several NCAA Division I and Division II teams.
Wellesley finished 31st in the team competition with five points. Division I Bryant won the team competition with 93.5 points. Host Holy Cross (83.5) and Southern Connecticut State (75) rounded out the top three.
Beauchamp earned fourth out of 23 runners in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:26.47 and captured five points.
Whinney came in 10th out of 31 participants in the 1500m. Her time of 4:37.62 is a personal-best and currently ranks 59th in Division III.
