WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College track & field senior Taylor Quaye (Los Angeles, Calif.) and sophomores Charlie Barron (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Simone Beauchamp (Aurora, Colo.), Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.) and Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) have all received the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-District honor.

2023-24 marks Quaye's second Academic All-District recognition, having previously received the accolade in 2022-23.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution.

Whinney won the 3000m Steeplechase event at the NEWMAC Championships and New England DIII Championships. She received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors in Outdoor Track & Field and Cross Country and competed in the NCAA Championships in all three seasons. Beauchamp also earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors during outdoor track season. Beauchamp came in second in the 3000m Steeplechase event at the NEWMAC Championships and broke the 11-minute-mark at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championship.

Quaye and Barron were both members of the 4x200m Relay Team that set a Wellesley indoor track & program record with a time of 1:48.64 at the New England DIII Championships. Quaye had a personal-best time in the 60m this season and was the runner-up in the 200m at the Gordon Kelly Invitational. Barron placed second in the 400m on three different occasions and set a PR in the 400m at the NEWMAC Championships.

Brydges won the 3000m race at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational in the winter and later competed in the 5000m at the New England DIII Championships. In the spring, Brydges earned points for the Blue in the 10000m race at the NEWMAC Championships.
