Wellesley's Seebold and Doerges Earn NEWVA All-New England Honors
BEVERLY, Mass. -- The New England Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (NEWVA) has released the 2021 NEWVA Annual Awards honoring the All-New England Team, All-Rookie Team, and the All-Senior Team. Wellesley College volleyball senior Nicole Doegres (San Marino, Calif.) has been named to the NEWVA Second Team and classmate Izzy Seebold (Concord, N.C.) was selected to the NEWVA All-Senior Team.

Doerges earns NEWVA All-New England honors for the first time since making the All-Rookie Team back in 2018. The senior was also named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team All-Conference and an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-American Honorable Mention. The senior led the NCAA in kills per set with 5.60 and led the NEWMAC with 403 kills. Doerges posted 20 or more kills in 12 of 20 matches this season.
Izzy Seebold | SR | Concord, N.C. | NEWVA All-Senior Team
Seebold earns NEWVA honors for the second time after being named to the All-New England Region Team in 2019. The setter finished the season with 656 assists, 118 digs, and 47 kills. She finished third in the NEWMAC in assists per set with 9.11. In a 3-2 win over Smith College, Seebold recorded a season high 45 assists and 10 service aces.
The NEWVA Annual Award recipients are nominated by and voted on by the organization's member head coaches. The coaches represent the seven competing conferences in NCAA Division III including the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), Little East Conference (LEC), Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), North Atlantic Conference (NAC), New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
