Blue Volleyball Has Six Make Academic All-Conference Team

Six photos of the athletes named to the Academic All-Conference team

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) is pleased to announce the 2022 Volleyball Academic All-Conference Team. Six Wellesley student-athletes earned the recognition. 

Senior TyleBell Smith (Frisco, Texas) earned the recognition for the third consecutive year.Junior Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.) received the honor for the second time. Sophomores Mia Maxwell (Arlington, Mass.), Mikayla Tansil (Warren, Mich.), Rachel Xu (Beijing, China), and Jennifer Yu (Shanghai, China) all made the All-Academic Team in their first year of eligibility.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2022 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
