WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College volleyball finished its regular season with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 26-24) win over Mount Holyoke on Saturday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Prior to the game Wellesley acknowledged senior Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.) for her contributions to the Blue.

First year Kate Giang (Corte Madera, Calif.) had a double-double with 15 kills and 16 digs for the Blue (13-12 Overall, 3-8 NEWMAC), while Salembier and first years Mary Beeler (Menlo Park, Calif.) and Evelyn Hill (Rocklin, Calif.) all added six kills apiece.

Wellesley sophomore Kaija Kunze-Hoeg (Eagan, Minn.) tied for the match lead with 17 digs, and had at least 10 digs in all 25 contests this season. First years Madeline Zornek (Orlando, Fla.) and Noelle Winn (San Francisco, Calif.) combined for 30 assists.

Sophomore Amelia Ringor was the defensive leader for the Lyons (11-16 Overall, 1-10 NEWMAC) with 17 digs while classmate Madeline Barton (Brookfield, Wis.) had six kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Sadie Duffrin (Minneapolis, Minn.) picked up 11 assists and seven digs.

Wellesley had 16 kills and a .316 hitting percentage in the first set. Though the Lyons led 3-1 early, the Blue were soon up 15-8. A late 5-0 run made it 22-11 in Wellesley's favor, and Hill put the set to rest with a kill.

The Blue led 10-4 in the second set before winning nine of 11 points and clinching a definitive set with back-to-back kills from Giang.

Mount Holyoke fought hard in the third set. Despite being down 21-15, the Lyons strung together five consecutive points, and even led 24-23. The Blue regrouped at the last second with an important kill from first year Caroline Meyer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and a pair of errors helped Wellesley to close out a 26-24 set.
