Clement Named NEWMAC Runner of the Week

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Wellesley College junior Leah Clement was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending October 3, 2010.

Clement won this weekend's Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College, marking the first victory of her cross country career. The junior's time of 18:47 ranked her atop 271 competitors in the 5K race.

Clement's win anchored the Blue to a 3rd-place finish out of 26 scoring teams.

Wellesley returns to action at the New England Intercollegiate Championships on Saturday at Boston's Franklin Park.
