Blue Runners Head to NCAA Cross Country Nationals

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College cross country team will be represented by two runners at the 2011 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships held at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday.

Wellesley senior Leah Clement and junior Randelle Boots have both qualified to race at the event with All-Region performances last weekend. Boots looks to earn her second straight All-America nod in cross country, as last season she finished 25th overall in the 279-runner field. Clement will be making her first NCAA Cross Country appearance.

In last week's NCAA Regional race, Boots took second, tying the best finish for a Wellesley runner at the event (Paula Andres '90), and also breaking her own school record in the 6K distance (21:06.52). Clement finished 15th overall in a personal best time of 21:50.70.

The race will take place at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin, with the women's event beginning at 11:00am local time (12:00pm ET).
