Fouda Named NEWMAC Runner of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College's Priyanka Fouda was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending September 30th.

Fouda led Wellesley to the 2012 Pop Crowell Invitational title with a runner-up finish. The first-year recorded a time of 18:46.9 to nab second overall in field of 317 competitors. Her time also marked the fastest ever race for a Wellesley runner on the Gordon course. As a team, the Blue placed first out of 30 competing teams.

The Wellesley College cross country team has two wins this season (Pop Crowell Invitational, Smith Invitational) and also recorded a third place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. The team will next compete at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational on Saturday at 12:00pm.
