Brindley Named NEWMAC Runner of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College's Laura Brindley was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending October 21st.

Brindley, who hails from Mercer Island, Wash., led the Blue to the 2012 Wellesley Invitational title, taking top individual honors. The rookie placed first out of 32 total runners, with a time of 20:22:42. Brindley led a pack of seven Wellesley runners across the finish line, as the Blue earned a perfect score of 15 at the event.

The Wellesley College cross country team has racked up four wins this season, while finishing in the top three of two other races. The Blue are back in action on Saturday, traveling to Smith College for the 2012 NEWMAC Championship.
