Marc Boutin Added to Cross Country/Track Coaching Staff

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Wellesley College cross country and track & field Head Coach Phil Jennings has announced the hiring of Marc Boutin as an assistant coach of the Blue cross country and track & field programs. Boutin will work with the cross country team in the fall and the Blue's distance runners on the track in the spring.

A four-year member of the cross country and track & field teams at nearby Brandeis University, Boutin started his collegiate career with the Judges by earning University Athletic Association (UAA) men's cross country Rookie of the Year honors in 2008. The Westford, Mass. native went on to rack up a combined seven UAA All-Conference honors in cross country and track & field, while qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships three times and receiving All-New England honors in cross country in all four years of his career. Boutin also captained the cross country and track teams during his senior season at Brandeis.

"I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with such a successful program," said Boutin. "I look forward to working with Coach Jennings and getting to know the student-athletes and the rest of the athletics staff."

Boutin graduated from Brandeis with a degree in Psychology in 2012. He currently works as an Employment & Compensation Specialist in Wellesley College's Office of Human Resources, where he assists in the development and implementation of new strategies to aid in faculty and union hiring. He also conducts the welcome orientation and oversees advertising and I-9 compliance for Faculty, Staff and Union employees.

Wellesley cross country opens the 2016 season this Saturday, September 3, at the Roger Williams Invitational.
