Blue Cross Country Ranked No. 24 in Latest NCAA Division III National Coaches’ Poll

NEW ORLEANS -- For the first time since 2016, Wellesley College cross country is ranked in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll. The Blue are ranked No. 24 in the latest poll, released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Wellesley, also up to No. 4 in the latest Division III New England Regional rankings, was one of three new teams to enter the Week 7 poll following the Blue's runner-up performance at the 2021 NEWMAC Championships. Four Wellesley runners earned All-Conference honors at the NEWMAC Championship, including individual overall winner Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.). Senior Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) and juniors Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) and Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) joined Marks on this year's NEWMAC All-Conference squad.

Marks has helped pace the Blue to top five team finishes with at the Keene State Invitational (2nd/14) on Oct. 2 and the UMass Dartmouth invitational on Sept. 18 (6th/30) and the Blue will now turn its focus to the NCAA Division III New England Regional on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Franklin Park in Boston.
