Wellesley to Participate in NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College Athletics, in partnership with the NCAA's Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee (MOIC) and Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAACs) and NCAA Institutions across the country, will participate in the NCAA's 3rd Annual Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign, Oct. 27-29, 2020.
The Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign is meant to be a week of awareness, education and engagement showing the importance of inclusive environments in college sports. The entire Wellesley Athletics community is encouraged to participate using #NCAAInclusion.
Day 1 (Tuesday, Oct. 27): "My Story Matters": exploring student-athletes' identities, perspectives, and experiences.
- The varsity representatives on Wellesley's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee share their stories and perspectives.
Day 2 (Wednesday, Oct. 28): "I've Got Your Back": showcasing student-athletes supporting each other to foster inclusive environments.
- Minneapolis, Minnesota native Ella Matticks '21 shares her perspective on continuing to support the Black Lives Matter movement and creating an inclusive environment.
Day 3 (Thursday, Oct. 29): "Together We Rise": outlining personal action steps to inclusive excellence and celebrating collaboration across the campus community.
- Student-athletes from Wellesley join in a social media conversation with student-athletes from Mount Holyoke and Smith.
- A message from our campus community for all students.
- Janelle Sullivan '21 will join alumna Allie Littlefox '08, Director of Athletics at Mills College (Oakland, Calif.), for a virtual roundtable.
- 3:00 PM ET/12 PM PT "Mapping Out Your Action Steps"
