Reigning National Champion Blue Crew Tabbed as NEWMAC Preseason Favorites

BOSTON, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released the annual Rowing Preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday afternoon. Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, claiming the NCAA National Championship Title for the first time, Wellesley has been tabbed as the preseason favorites with six first place votes. 

After finishing second the the NEWMAC Championship in 2016, WPI took No. 2 with one first place vote while No. 3 Smith and No. 4 Coast Guard follows. Rounding out the final four slots is No. 5 Mount Holyoke, No. 6 Simmons and No. 7 Clark.

The 2017 season will welcome back six All-Conference honorees, the 2016 Coxswain of the Year in Wellesley's Stephanie Kim as well as the National Coach of the Year, Wellesley's Tessa Spillane.
