WASHINGTON, D.C. -- 2023 NCAA Division III Rowing National Champion Wellesley College joined NCAA national champions from across the country on Monday, June 12 at the White House in Washington, D.C. for "College Athlete Day" honoring Division I, II and III Championship Teams of the NCAA.

Wellesley was among the 52 teams that attended the event on the White House lawn on Monday morning, the first of its kind to welcome NCAA National Champions from all three divisions. The event included remarks from Vice President Kamala Harris, Texas women's volleyball player and NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship Most Outstanding Player Logan Eggleston, and NCAA President Charlie Baker.

Wellesley captured the 2023 NCAA Championship last month, the program's second consecutive and third since 2016. Blue Crew's varsity eight (V8+) took gold in the V8+ Grand Final and the second varsity eight (2V8+) earned silver in the 2V8+ Grand Final to propel the team to a first place finish in the team standings with 54 points. The Blue are one of only three schools to earn at least three NCAA Division III Rowing Championships.

A replay of the program can be viewed on the White House YouTube page.
