Blue Crew Takes Sixth in Top Three Events at National Invitational Rowing Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. – Wellesley College crew made the Grand Final in the First, Second and Third Varsity Eight races at the National Invitational Rowing Championship, hosted at Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday.

Wellesley took second in the opening heat of the Varsity Eight (V8+) event with a time of 7:09.165 to qualify for the Grand Final. Later on, Blue Crew claimed sixth in the Grand Final with a time of 7:01.559.

During the Second Varsity Eight (2V8+) competition, the team also finished sixth in the Grand Final with a time of 7:28.580. Earlier in the day, Blue crew placed second out of six behind Williams in the opening heat with a time of 7:14.420 to earn a spot in the Grand Final. 

Wellesley won its opening heat of the Third Varsity Eight (3V8+) race with a time of 7:27.347 and advanced to the Grand Final. Blue Crew came in sixth place in the Grand Final with a time of 7:37.320.

Blue Crew placed third with a time of 7:44.096 in the Fourth Varsity Eight (4V8+) race.
