Sticco-Ivins Takes 11th In 1-Meter Diving at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C.  -- Wellesley College swimming & diving sophomore Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) finished in 11th place in Women's 1-Meter Diving at the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. 

The 2016 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Year, Sticco-Ivins scored 418.20 in the consolation final of the Women's 1-Meter Event to take 11th place out of 24 competitors. However, the 2015 NCAA national runner-up on the 1-meter board did not advance to Thursday night's final round of competition after scoring 400.80 in the preliminaries.

Sticco-Ivins will return to action on Saturday with competition in Women's 3-Meter Diving. The defending NCAA National Champion in the event, Sticco-Ivins also set the Wellesley school 11-dive record with a score of 529.50 at this season's NEWMAC Championships.
