Wellesley's Sticco-Ivins Caps NCAA Diving Career With 7th All-American Honor

INDIANPOLIS, Indiana – Wellesley College swimming & diving senior Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) earned her seventh career All-American honor with a seventh place finish in three-meter diving at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

Now a four-time All-American in three-meter diving and a two-time national champion, Sticco-Ivins entered Saturday's final in first place after scoring 501.00 in the 11-dive preliminary. However, in the end she would finish 64.30 points back of Ithaca College graduate student Nickie Griesemer (West Chester, Pa.), as Griesemer claimed both the one-meter and three-meter titles at this year's championships.

The most decorated student-athlete in Wellesley College Athletics history, Sticco-Ivins ends her remarkable collegiate career as a three-time NCAA Division III National Champion, two-time CSCAA National Diver of the Year (2015, 2017), three-time NEWMAC Diver of the Year, and a seven-time New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Champion and first team all-conference honoree. She was also named NEWMAC Diver of the Week a record 20 times.

Sticco-Ivins owns all four Wellesley College diving school records and the distinction of being the only swimmer or diver in Wellesley Swimming & Diving program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in all four years of her career.
