Sekhon, Liu, 200 Medley Relay to Represent Wellesley Swimming and Diving at NCAA Championships

Kavita Sekhon '26, Tracey Liu '26, Aubrey Cantrell '26, Ariana Mitsuoka '24 will represent Wellesley swimming and diving at the NCAA Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College swimming & diving first years Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.), Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) and the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Liu, Sekhon, Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), and alternate sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) have qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships that will take place from March 15-18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Sekhon is currently ranked 17th in the nation for the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a program record time of 1:03.40. The first year also holds Wellesley's program record in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:21.55), and finished second at the NEWMAC Championships last Sunday in the event, earning Second Team All-Conference Accolades. Additionally, Sekhon holds a program record in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (29.80) and has earned a NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week award this season.

Liu is ranked 31st in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Liu set the program record with 56.65 at the NEWMAC Championships and narrowly missed the podium placing fourth in the finals.

The 200 Yard Medley Relay team is currently ranked 20th in the nation following a program record time of 1:43.93 that earned the team third place at the NEWMAC Championships. The squad earned NEWMAC Relay of the Week honors earlier this season following a winning performance against Wheaton.

The 200 Yard Medley Relay will take place on Wednesday, March 15. On Thursday, March 16 the team will compete in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 400 Yard Medley Relay. Liu will compete in the 100 Yard Backstroke and Sekhon races in the 100 Yard Breaststroke event on Friday, March 17. Sekhon will also take part in the 200 Yard Breaststroke race while the team competes in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay on Saturday, March 18. Additional event information will be added as information becomes available.
