Wellesley Swimming & Diving Places Five on CSCAA Individual Scholar All-American Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving rising senior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), rising junior Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) and rising sophomores Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) and Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) have each been named to the 2023 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Individual Scholar All-American team.

The CSCAA recognized a total of 2,290 (1,270 women and 1,020 men) swimmers and divers as Scholar All-Americans for the 2022-23 season, with Mitsuoka, Cai, Cantrell and Liu each earning a spot on the first team, while Sekhon was named to the second team. Mitsuoka, Cai, Cantrell and Liu each represented the Blue at this year's NCAA Championships. Sekhon met the "B" time standard for the national championship but did not compete. Wellesley's five Scholar All-American selections are the most in a season in program history.

To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their respective national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher and met the "B" time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.

"Congratulations to these exceptional student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding achievements both in the classroom and in their sport," said CSCAA Executive Director, Samantha Barany.  "The CSCAA takes pride in recognizing individuals who excel in academics while competing at the highest level."

At the Division III level, 561 students were recognized (265 women and 296 men).
