Blue Crew Captures First in V8+, 2V8+, 3V8+, V4+ at Skidmore Sprints

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Wellesley College crew recorded first place finishes in every single finale at the Skidmore Sprints on Saturday at Fish Creek. 

Blue Crew's V8+ won their opening heat with a time of 7:01.41. In the grand finale Wellesley sprinted to a 6:49.99 to capture first, nearly eight seconds faster than Smith in second place.

Wellesley's 2V8+ also won their opening heat, racing to a 7:08.37. The 2V8+ dropped over seven seconds in the grand finale to win with a time of 7:01.35.

The 3V8+ placed second in their heat with a 7:46.55, only a few seconds behind Smith. Blue Crew defeated the Smith counterparts in the finale, with their 7:12.23 edging out the Pioneers by less than .7 seconds.

In V4+ race Wellesley earned first convincingly, with their 8:12.03, over 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
