Cross Country Places Seventh at NCAA Regional

The Wellesley College cross country team earned its fourth straight-top ten finish at the NCAA New England Regional on Saturday. The Blue finished seventh out of 51 teams at the 6K event held at Westfield State University.
Blue Cross Country Takes Second at NEWMAC Championships

The Wellesley College cross country team earned runner-up honors at the 2012 NEWMAC Cross Country Championship, hosted by Smith College on Saturday afternoon. The Blue placed second in the field of 10 teams, finishing behind only MIT, the number one ranked team in the nation.
Wellesley Cross Country Races at NEWMAC Championship This Weekend

The 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) cross country championship will be held this Saturday, October 27 at Smith College, with a men’s eight-kilometer race and a five-kilometer women’s race. MIT comes in to the meet as the defending champion on both the men’s and women’s side but will face stiff challenges from all of the NEWMAC squads.

The Wellesley College Cross Country team topped Simmons College with a perfect score, taking the top seven spots in the 2012 Wellesley Invitational. The 5K race took place at Wellesley’s lake course on a humid Saturday morning.
Fouda Named Wellesley News Athlete of the Week

Priyanka Fouda ’16 could run home if she wanted to. The cross country standout grew up running around Wellesley’s home field, and had a successful athletic career at Wellesley High School. She is carrying that momentum over to collegiate running. Fouda has already earned the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Runner of the Week honors. Most recently, she led Wellesley to a first place finish in the Seven Sisters Championship. She finished the 5k event in 18:29, good for a fifth place individual finish, and a spot on the All-Seven Sisters team. Fouda sat down with me during a rare off-day to talk about the transition to college running and her strategies for big meets.
Wellesley Cross Country Wins Seven Sisters Championship

Host Wellesley College took home the team title at the 31st Seven Sisters Cross Country Championship, held at Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley. The 5k event featured 94 runners from six teams, as Wellesley welcomed Bryn Mawr College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, St. Catherine University and Vassar College.
Cross Country 3rd out of 43 at James Earley Invite

Participating in the largest meet in team history, Wellesley College cross country finished third overall at the 2012 James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday at Holyoke Community College. The Blue were competing against 43 total teams in a 6K race on the same course that will host the 2012 NCAA Regional.

The Wellesley College cross country team took home the team title at the 2012 Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College on Saturday. The Blue bested a field of 30 teams competing in the 5K event, while first-year Priyanka Fouda placed second overall among 317 runners.
