Wellesley Swimming & Diving Places Five on CSCAA Individual Scholar All-American Team

Wellesley College swimming & diving rising senior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), rising junior Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) and rising sophomores Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) and Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) have each been named to the 2023 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Individual Scholar All-America team.

A total of 37 student-athletes have been recognized from the last 25 years, including former Wellesley diving student-athlete Maura Sticco-Ivins '18 (right) and swimming student-athlete Jessica Wegner '22 (left).

The NEWMAC announced the Women’s Swimming and Diving 25 Year All-NEWMAC Team in recognition of the historic 25th Anniversary season. A total of 37 student-athletes have been recognized from the last 25 years, including former Wellesley diving student-athlete Maura Sticco-Ivins ‘18 and swimming student-athlete Jessica Wegner ‘22. The honored team was voted on by the NEWMAC membership.

Liu Races in 100 Yard Backstroke at NCAA Division III Championships

First year Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) represented Wellesley College swimming and diving in the 100 Yard Backstroke event on Friday at the NCAA Division III National Championships from the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Liu swam a 57.67 in the race, only a second off of her personal best and good for 31st place in the prelims. Liu did not advance to the finals. The last time a first year competed in an individual event for Wellesley was in 2015.

Wellesley Swimming and Diving Competes in 200 Yard Medley at NCAA DIII Championships

Wellesley College swimming and diving competed in the 200 Yard Medley Relay on Wednesday in the NCAA Division III Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Blue's relay team of first year Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.), junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.), and first year Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.) placed 26th in the 200 Yard Medley Relay prelims with a time of 1:46.86 and did not advance to the finals. Wednesday marked the first time in over twenty years that Wellesley had a relay team compete in the NCAA Division III Championships.

Blue Swimming and Diving's Mitsuoka Earns CSC Academic All-District

Wellesley College swimming and diving junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.) was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday. The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution.

Wellesley College swimming & diving first year Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) and the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of first years Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.), Sekhon, Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), and junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.) have qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships that will take place from March 15-18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
